TradeCard Outlines Strong Growth in 2005
Financial supply chain solution provider TradeCard outlined its 2005 results, noting that its growth had exceeded 70 percent during the last year. This actually marks the third straight year of significant expansion for the company. The New York-based company offers a trading platform used by buyers and sellers in 40 countries to manage mutual transactions, with visibility to initial orders through final settlement. The solution provider attributed the strong performance during the year to new product launches. The new products released in 2005 included an early payment program, chargeback management and warehouse reconciliation functionality. Sdcexec reports:

Take Solutions, a supply chain management(SCM) solutions provider, has launched an electronic filing web based software application, e-registry, targeted at banks, financial institutions, government agencies, mortgage companies and notary public. The application is designed specifically for the management of land related documents and records at the government level and can interface with any existing land record management system in a seamless manner. The solution has already found acceptability in the US government, which will deploy the solution in 67 countries in Pennsylvania during the year 2006. The solution will enable users to realize 40-60 per cent reduction of costs in filing land records.
Masuda appointed President for Manugistics
Manugistics Group Inc., a leading provider of synchronized supply chain management and revenue management solutions, recently announced that Susumu Masuda has been named as the President and Representative Director of Manugistics Japan. WSU confers Masters in SCM Degree
Wright State’s Raj Soin College of Business has recently awarded its first batch of master’s of science degrees in logistics and supply chain management. This course is different in a way, as the students are executives from companies that sponsor their participation. Also, that the course replaces the traditional master’s thesis with a corporate project geared to meet a specific company need. Daytondailynews reports:
Vikram Sethi, chairman of the college’s information systems and operations management department, said the new program meets a specific need identified by corporate advisers. "We are the logistics center (of the Dayton region), yet we had no advanced degree" in the subject, he said Friday.
SAPICS Offers New SCM Program
It was recently reported that the very first comprehensive educational program, which is designed for operations and supply chain management professionals has been launched in South Africa by SAPICS the Professional Society for Supply Chain Management. The new program offered by the society is internationally recognized Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) program, which is in association with its United States-based affiliate, the Association for Operations Management (APICS).
