Viasystems picks Kinaxis Rapid Response for Supply Chain
Supply chain management has been one of the deciding factors of late for good business modules. Looking to give its supply chain a fillip, Viasystems Group chose Kinaxis Inc. , RapidResponse to drive its Response Management across Global Operations and Supply Chain.
Considering that Viasystems is a big name in printed circuit board (PCB) and electro-mechanical manufacturing and assembly solutions, this deal is lucrative deal for Kinaxis, a provider of a Response Management solution that drives operations performance management.
Viasystems primarily focuses on the automotive, telecommunications, computer and data, industrial, instrumentation and consumer industries. Its products and services consist of the design and fabrication of printed circuit boards, manufacture of custom-designed back panel assemblies, design and manufacturing of wire harnesses, custom cable assemblies for thermal management equipment, and a wide range of electromechanical enclosure systems. As a global PCB and EMS provider, Viasystems will be looking for a balance flexibility to meet changing customer requirements within very short lead-times with cost management to ensure profitable operations. Thus it will be a challenge for the Kinaxis to provide lubricant for enabling efficient supply chain management and responsiveness tool to Viasystems.
Kinaxis focus has to be towards providing a tool to assist in Viasystems customers with changing needs but would face problems regarding excess and obsolete (E&O) inventories. Thus, RapidResponse has to deliver solutions pertaining to E&O.
