RFID Technology To Stop Counterfeit Product Circulation

In order to check counterfeiting of products in the pharmaceutical sector a number of companies are turning to RFID technology from SAP. This technology would help in authenticating drugs and would help in ensuring that counterfeited products cannot be introduced into the supply chain.
Express Computer reports:

Market research indicates that 7 to 8 percent of the drugs worldwide are counterfeit. According to SAP, shrinkage and counterfeits account for 0.22 to 0.73 percent of revenues for manufacturers, and the counterfeit rate is growing at 6 to 8 percent annually.
