Agros to Upgrade Supply Chain IT Systems

The United Kingdom-based Argos is reportedly ready to go live with new Information Technology systems which are geared towards improving the company’s merchandise and supply chain planning and execution. The new upgrade is currently aimed at the fast-moving products segments. However, the company plans to tune these systems for other segments later. The initial benefit of such a system has been felt on inventory savings, and savings in the distribution centers on products that the company orders at good frequency. Crmbuyer reports:

The retailer wanted to replace aging legacy systems to improve the automation of stock replenishment. Moving Forward - "For 10 to 15 years, we’ve needed the expertise of our buying teams to make the old distributed system work, and we want a system that will support these people in driving it forward instead." "Some of our systems were very old, so we had to look at implementing a core merchandising system," Amanda Buckland, Argos supply chain business manager, said.
