Sernam to deploy RFID
Sernam, a French shipping company, with the assistance of IBM is deploying RFID system to improve efficiency.
This system would be utilized to track shipments and consequently notify customers about the exact status of their package. The entire process would be automated.
Sernam has large consignments and transports more than 14 million parcels a year, this undoubtedly calls for employing the latest technology so that the company can grow further.
The market is highly competitive and to create a niche, it is important for all service providers to gear up. Taking the example of the effort undertaken by Sernam, I would advise other companies to spruce up as well. Consumers are becoming more demanding and there is no scope for error any more, RFID ensures that most loopholes that can lead to errors are eliminated.
