Select RFID tags after due consideration
Are you looking at leveraging the benefits that the usage of RFID tags guarantees? Well remember, all RFID tags are not the same. You would have to look at what fits your needs and works to your advantage. Your choice has to be based on your need, application of RFID tags, the business processes involved, and so on. In fact, if you do not understand your need before selecting the RFID tags, you might end up selecting the wrong tags.
You need to understand that each business is unique, therefore so are its needs. You would have to determine the read distance required. At the same time, you would also have to determine the frequency at which RFID tags operate and the clarity of signal.
Another factor that would affect your choice is the compatibility of the RFID tags with the temperature and the humidity level that is maintained at your outlet, plant, storage facility or warehouse, where you intend using the tags. Also, the product to which the RFID tags are to be applied also effects your selection. Usually different tags are made for different products, which implies that the tags for wood, plastic, metal and so on are usually different.
At the same time, these tags are priced differently and you would need to select tags that fit your budget. It is important to remember that these tags are aimed at enhancing efficiency and not at increasing costs, so look at the long term perspective before taking a decision.
