Kingsland Wines and Spirits installs manufacturing planning software to improve SCM
In an attempt to improve supply chain efficiency, Kingsland Wines and Spirits, a drinks supply company is installing a manufacturing planning software from supplier Geac and an IBM iSeries server. The software is designed to achieve the convenience of delivering the order on the same day that the order is placed.
This move is basically intended to reduce orders that rely on traditional forecasts, leading to locking of capital in stock. The usage of this software would go a long way in ensuring that the company can adapt to changes in consumer demands much faster.
The software will automate demand forecasting and will ensure that the required raw materials are ordered as and when required. This would reduce the stock that is stacked at the production facility in order to deal with increase in demand. As a result, the entire supply chain efficiency of the company would be revolutionized leading to cost cutting and a faster reaction time.
