Toyota hired ASU to teach Supply Management Course
Toyota Manufacturing North America has selected the Executive Education Programs at the W.P Carey School of Business. These programs will introduce its senior purchasing managers to cutting edge thinking and practices in supply chain management. To impart the training, it has hired Arizona State University (ASU). Toyota has realized that to compete in the market and provide the best solution to its customers, it needs to train its higher staff now. The purchase managers are responsible to implement new solutions in supply chain management.
The selection came after a year-long process. In that process, the W.P. Carey School of Business had to compete with schools such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Ohio State University. The program will consist of 10 one-day courses. phoenix.bizjournals.com reports:
To design the program, faculty will be drawn from the W.P. Carey School of Business Department of Supply Chain Management, as well as the departments of marketing, management and finance. The original enrollment target was set at 20, but that is expected to grow, said Andy Atzert, director of Executive Education.
